CHICAGO, June 26, 2024 - US Women's National Team (USWNT) head coach Emma Hayes has unveiled the 18-player roster that will represent the United States at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The tournament will take place from July 25 to August 10, 2024. The roster features a mix of experienced veterans and rising stars, including Sophia Smith and Rose Lavelle. Smith, a 21-year-old forward, has become one of the most exciting players in the world, while Lavelle, a 28-year-old midfielder, is a two-time World Cup champion. "This is a talented and experienced group of players who are ready to represent the United States at the highest level," Hayes said. "We have a good balance of youth and experience, and I am confident that this team can compete for a gold medal in Paris." In addition to the 18 players on the roster, Hayes also named four alternates: goalkeeper Jane Campbell, defender Emily Fox, midfielder Kristie Mewis, and forward Mallory Pugh. The USWNT will begin its Olympic preparation with a series of friendlies in the fall of 2024. The team will then travel to Paris in July 2024 for the Olympic Games.
