James Inhofe, the former US Senator from Oklahoma, has died at the age of 89, according to the Tulsa World newspaper. Inhofe, a prominent Republican politician, served in the Senate for nearly three decades, from 1994 to 2023. The cause of his death has not yet been disclosed.

Inhofe's political career spanned over six decades. He first served in the Oklahoma House of Representatives from 1967 to 1977, and then in the US House of Representatives from 1987 to 1994.
